At our beloved place by the Lake Stream Creek, surrounded by stunning nature. Yet just a stone's throw away from the center of Železná Ruda, Šumava bike trails, and ski slopes at Špičák or the German Grosser Arber.

Here, with our love for Šumava, we have created a cozy, designer apartment with a projector, outdoor sauna, and pool.

In the bedroom, we’ve prepared a projector for you, so enjoy a movie night from under the duvet. You’ll find popcorn in the kitchen. Outside, there’s a pool and sauna with a natural bathing pond next to the creek.

Savor a meal or enjoy a good rum at tables made from old fallen trees. A deer on the wall will watch over you in the bathroom with a bathtub.

The kitchen is fully equipped, and the deer above the counter was carved by a sculptor from an old fallen tree. Its antlers are real, shed by a deer in a meadow in Prášily.
You can visit there during one of the Šumava trips to Hostinec u Michala, run by our friends. They cook wonderfully there.

Immerse yourself in music with the Marshall speaker. We have the same one at home, and we love it.

Turn off your phone or, on the contrary, use this space for creative work. It's your life. We’re just trying to make sure that the part of it you spend at Dear Deer is a great experience.

Activities in the Area

200 Maintained Cross-Country Ski Trails

Just a short distance from the apartment, you’ll find 25 km of downhill slopes. Cross-country ski trails can be found in Šumava National Park and the adjacent Bavarian Forest National Park. Enjoy the purest Šumava air and the breeze that will bring a rosy glow to your cheeks.

Skiing

From the terrace, you can see the largest ski center in Šumava, Špičák. Just an 11-minute drive away is the largest ski resort on the German side of Šumava, Großer Arber.

We Love Non-Winter Šumava

Beautiful walks, hikes, and climbs. Admire the famous glacial lakes of Šumava, Černé Jezero and Čertovo Jezero, or take a stroll around "Großer Arbersee" in Germany. In summer, ride the cable car to Großer Arber or take a photo at the iconic doors to Šumava on Pancíř's summit. You can even ride up in a 50-year-old historic cable car.

Šumava Loves Families

Visit the newly opened Environmental Center in Železná Ruda, a fantastic family project. Learn about Šumava’s wildlife or explore the history of skiing. The onsite info center provides great ideas for more adventures in the area.

Bikes + Šumava = Love

Bike Park Špičák offers adrenaline-filled fun. For casual cyclists, the area boasts many scenic trails. Visit Prášilské Jezero and stop by Hostinec u Michala for delicious food, horseback riding, or a sweet treat.

Speaking of Food

Apart from breathtaking views, Pancíř also offers a restaurant with an observation tower. In Železná Ruda, you can visit Avalanche restaurant, or check out the new Javor restaurant in the town center.
